We’ve shared our lives with dogs, cats and quite a few other animals over the years. The Pet Household is where we share their stories, the things they’ve taught us, the mistakes we’ve made and the things we’ve learned along the way. You’ll also find practical advice and products we’ve found genuinely useful.
Some of it is useful. Some of it is funny. Some of it is heartbreaking. All of it comes from actually living with animals.
Dog Life
Dogs have a habit of becoming part of everything you do. We’ll share what we’ve learned about their care, behaviour, training and enjoying everyday life together.
Cat Life
Cats tend to do things their own way. We’ll share what we’ve learned about their care, behaviour, feeding and all the odd habits that make life with them fun.
Products worth knowing about
There are thousands of pet products out there, and not all of them are worth your money. We’ll share the things we use ourselves and look at other products that catch our attention. If we think something is worth buying we’ll say why, and if we don’t, we’ll say that too.
Meet the household
The pets on this site aren’t just here for the photographs. They’re our pets, past and present, and they’re the reason we have so many stories to tell. Some are still very much in charge of the house, while others, like Frankie, are sadly no longer with us but will always be part of the family.
The current residents
Our three cats couldn’t be more different from each other, and they certainly keep us entertained. Over time we’ll introduce them properly and share some of the things they get up to. And yes, one of them really does use the human toilet.
Frankie’s story
Frankie was our Labrador and a huge part of our family. He’s sadly no longer with us, but we have years of memories and stories about the time we shared with him. This is where we’ll remember Frankie and share some of the things that made him so special to us.
